The school employs a full time Family Liaison Officer, Mr Steve Bentley, who regularly visits parents and offers practical help and emotional support. The aim is to engender positive relationships between parents and the school which benefit the child or young person and avoid crisis situations.
Steve can provide advice on benefits, payments and build links with partner agencies such as Social Services and Health. He contributes to each child/young person’s annual review of statement and frequently accompanies parents and student leavers on visits to other establishments to support the transition process.
