The aim of this programme is to share good practice in autism, promote inclusive strategies and to enhance knowledge and expertise about autistic spectrum disorders with mainstream colleagues.
As with the Professional Induction training the sessions will run over two/three days tailored to fit around individual need whether possible. To include:
An Overview of Autism/Communication & Behaviour Support
Workshadowing specialist teachers and support staff in classrooms and activities
Plenary question and answer session.
Past Work Shadowing sessions have proved particularly popular, allowing participants first hand experience of classroom practice.
Unlike the Professional Induction training no formal dates are arranged. If you feel this type of training would be beneficial to your staff please do not hesitate to contact the school when we would be happy to arrange the training.
