Effective Autism Practice Training

We are pleased to share that Helen Driver, our Head of Therapy & Clinical Services, is leading a training session for the North West Learning Partnership with regards to Effective Autism Practice within Mainstream Primary & Secondary Provision.

 
The training is ideal for SENDCOs, primary teachers, support staff, pastoral and inclusion leads. It is CPD accredited, and is for colleagues to develop their knowledge and understanding of effective autism practice covering the following:

  • Effective autism practice aligned to daily routines
  • Exploring physical environment, transitions, understanding difference
  • Purposeful use of communication & language through – support strategies, communication aids, Adaptations to curriculum
  • Building reciprocity, intensive interaction, developing peer relationships understanding motivation
  • Sensory approaches & techniques embedding sensory circuits, sensory diet
  • Modelling & adapting delivery of teaching- putting theory into practice
  • Purposeful parental engagement- supporting parent/care need(s) and priorities
  • Creating an effective climate for learning- inspecting what you expect (self-evaluation)
  • Top teaching tips – learning through effective pedagogies

 
The training is being organised by The North West Learning Partnership (NWLP) who provide training and professional development across the North West for trainee teachers, teachers, support staff, headteachers and leaders at all levels.

  • Date: Thursday 3rd November 2022, 9.00-4.00
  • Location: Mercure St Helens Hotel, Linkway West, St Helens, WA10 1NG
  • Cost: £160.00 per delegate which includes delivery, all course materials, refreshments and a light lunch
