Funding

The company’s ethos aims to establish a sense of community and care amongst all its members so that both staff and students can experience the benefits of being accepted and contribute towards the wider society.
The environment is both homely and educational and is of high quality so that it gives all who are here a sense of worth.

Fees

Fees to cover running expenses are paid by:

  1. Local Authorities or
  2. Joint funding by Local Authorities, Social Services and Health.
  3. Direct Payments (Extended School Services only).

No private funding will be considered.

Where students start or leave during the academic year, costs will pro-rata based on the number of academic days attended. Providers should also be aware of the 12 week notice period contained with Service Contracts.

Bursary Fund

Bursary provides financial help for young people who may face barriers to staying in education. Financial support is available for students who attend either Lakeside or LEAP College and meet eligibility criteria. There are two options available:

Vulnerable Student Bursary (aged 16-19)

An award of up to £1,200 per academic year for those who meet at least one of the below eligibility criteria

  • In Care
  • Care Leaver
  • In receipt of Income Support or Universal Credit because you are financially supporting yourself or financially supporting yourself and some who is dependent on you and living with you (i.e. a child or partner).
  • In receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payments (PIP) and Employment Support Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit in your own right.

Discretionary Bursary (age 16-25)

Where household income is less than £25,000 applications for a discretionary bursary will be considered. Applicants can apply for specific support related to their course (i.e. buying equipment, specialist clothing, paying for trips etc.)

Family Fund

Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people.
