Where pupils start or leave school during the academic year, costs will pro-rata based on the number of academic days attended. Providers should also be aware of the 12 week notice period contained with Service Contracts.
Residential students are funded either by Education Authorities, Health or Social Services. The “Contract of Care” agreement and a financial contract, which together with the individual plan of care, formalises the placement arrangement in respect of the individual pupil. The contract includes both local authority services and family involvement, be it natural parents, extended family or foster family.
The Bursary Fund provides financial help for young people aged 16 to 19 who may face barriers to staying in education. Students attending Lakeside College may be eligible for an award of up to £1,200 per academic year if one of the below eligibility criteria is met.
Applications for bursary are co-ordinated through Wargrave House. In order to process applications, we will require evidence that supports your claim. If you would like to apply, or discuss your personal circumstances further, please contact Claire Byrne (Family Liaison Officer).
The £170 million COVID Winter Grant Scheme has been made available to local authorities across England from this month. The scheme is intended to support with the cost of food, energy (heating, cooking and lighting), water bills (including sewerage) and other essentials. If you have previously received a food voucher from Wargrave House, the Winter Grant Scheme has replaced this and liaison will be direct with your local authority.
