X is ecstatic at the moment. She has made friends and always comes home so happy. X said she feels like she doesn’t have to mask anymore which is amazing. We’re relieved X is settling in really well and doesn’t have any anxiety about how well she is being cared for. We couldn’t thank you all enough.
X is enjoying it so much he’s never stopped talking about the school and his friends and what he’s been doing we never had any of that when he was in Y school so it’s a bit exciting for me I love listening to what he’s been doing in Z class and what A and A have been up to it was definitely the best decision I made sending him to Wargrave House.
It’s going really well, better than we had imagined he’s settling in so quickly, we are over the moon. Miss Z is just wonderful and knows exactly what X needs which is so reassuring for us.
“He said he wanted to come to school, I couldn’t believe it. I never thought I’d hear him say that”
He is one happy little boy. For the first time in 8 years, I don’t have to worry!
So glad Wargrave said yes!
X had a really positive day yesterday as always, I asked how was school? X told me it was great! Which for X is quite a thing.
I know X has only been with you a short time but thank you for all you have done and are doing for X. The change in X has been amazing. I cant thank you enough. I have noticed a massive change in X. X is more happy and engages in conversation with me. Telling me all about her day, her new friends and is super excited for the next day and what she is doing. X can’t wait to see what happens every day. She is keen to get to school. Home life is also a pleasure as X is a lot more calm and relaxed. Thank you so much x
X – comment from annual review – ‘It’s like we have our X back, the work the class team have done to help her has been amazing….she has friends which she has never had and it’s just lovely’
Wow, just WOW he has been out of education so long we never thought he would go to a school again, within a week you have got him in full time and loving life again!
He is settling in well and comes home wanting to go back to school which is a new thing for him – thank you
We as a family cannot thank you all enough, what started as an awful year for X and us a family. We could not see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for your love, support, guidance and care. We now have our little boy back! We are so grateful! X now loves coming to school is much more positive.
Just wanted to say the production yesterday was absolutely amazing. Thank you all so much for being such a fantastic school. We’re so proud of X and all the children and staff.
The young people you sent on the boxing tutoring course were a pleasure to work with and a credit to themselves and the school.
You have done more in ten weeks than his last school did in six years – X
Yeah he seems a lot more chilled. Hard work pays off, lots of changes at home in the last year and he has coped well.
I have just finished a call to X’s mum and she wanted me to pass on what a difference Wargrave House School has made to X’s and their family life. She expressed that she really didn’t feel like they would get their family life back after the difficulties he had at main stream. Mum said that she can’t thank you enough.
Yesterday X went out (for the first time) with four of his peers, sadly X could not go. They all went to TenPin in Warrington for bowling, pool and air hockey. We were able to stay close enough to support if needed and supervise from a well-situated table as X was able to identify himself that he was not ready or safe for him to just be dropped off and left which matched our own thoughts.
I just wanted to pass on that they ALL did themselves, their families and school proud. Their behaviour was exceptional and they encouraged and supported one another with the games. Even though it was extremely busy and noisy they somehow managed 3 hours of none stop fun with lots of laughs and giggles.
A new learner to class really stepped up, prompting shaking hands at the end of pool games, high fives and making sure the girls got back to the lane for their turn when they went for more drinks. The need to hide behind a tough mask had completely gone for the day and it was lovely to see him clearly very relaxed to be himself with everyone.
Whilst this was not a “school issue” I thought it important for staff to know how well they all did and how proud they should be of their behaviour.
Since starting at Wargrave House in September the progress X has made has been incredible. We are so happy. X’s communication and understanding has really improved, he is able to communicate some of his wants and needs using a AAC device and has also started to use visuals and has spoken some words copying the AAC mainly. W could not ever imagine X being able to communicate before starting at Wargrave. X is happy and content in school and at home. His separation anxiety has really improved and X is now able to spend time with a PA, allowing us to have respite. This would not have been possible a year ago. Transitions were a real issue for us as a family, as we were very limited to where we could take X due to his lack of understanding, which caused a lot of anxiety, so we would stick to the same few places for routine. Now with the use of visuals and AAC X understands where we are going which reduces anxiety. He is calmer and we are able to sit in a café on a day out, which was not possible before. We have also booked a holiday abroad (will be the first in 3 years as it has been previously impossibly stressful.
