Founded by Bessie Berman in 1971, Wargrave House is a non-maintained special school for children and young people aged 5-18 years, diagnosed with autism.

About our School
and College
Founded by Bessie Berman in 1971, Wargrave House is a non-maintained special school for children and young people aged 5-18 years, diagnosed with autism.
School and College Information
We offer a multidisciplinary and holistic approach towards education and care which centres on social, communication and flexible thinking approaches. We also offer support for families through a dedicated family liaison team.
Services we offer include local authority funded day and residential placements and extended school services (after school, Saturday, school holiday and short-term break provision).

Wargrave House recognises that all our students have very special needs. Compassion, tolerance, respect and positive intervention will lead to effective learning experiences.

Our multi professional team of therapists work with education to embed support strategies across the curriculum. Learners are supported by a Total Communication Approach and we adopt a person centred, individual needs led service.
