Governors and Trustees

As a non-maintained school & college we are required by the Department for Education to have a Governing Body. The Governing Body of Wargrave House School & College works closely with the Trustees, Chief Executive Officer and the Senior Management Team to set the future direction for the school & college and decide how the budget should be spent.

They make decisions, collectively, on matters such as performances targets, school & college policies and the school & college improvement plans. The correspondence address of our Chair of Governors is Viv Beecroft. She can also be contacted by post at the school address which is Wargrave House School & College, 449 Wargrave Road, Newton Le Willows, Merseyside, WA12 8RS.

Governors are committed individuals who want to make a difference.

The Governing Body meets once per term.

Details of the three meetings for the academic year 2020/21 are as follows:

  • Monday 14th September 2020
  • Monday 7th December 2020
  • Monday 25th January 2021
  • Monday 22nd March 2021
  • Monday 5th July 2021

Trustees

The Trustees ensure Wargrave House School & College has a clear purpose and an overall framework of policies and standards.

They develop overall strategies to achieve their aims and to ensure that there is a clear system to delegate the implementation of the strategies to the staff team.

They also monitor the progress of each service (receiving reports from the Governing Body) and ensure that it provides the highest quality of education and care which is balanced with the effective, efficient and economic use of company resources and assets.

They also ensure compliance with the law and accountability to the company’s stakeholders including the local community.

Trustees are committed individuals who want to make a difference.

Board of Trustees (Volunteer)

We are seeking a professional person to join our board of Trustees in a volunteer capacity to help in supporting our senior leadership team to achieve the very best and beyond.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference – we are a unique setting as we operate as both a charity and a non-maintained special school and college.  This role will give you the chance to contribute to our charity, leading to a great sense of satisfaction and achievement.

It is also a unique opportunity to learn more about us and the work we do here.

If you have particular skills in Strategic Fundraising and Marketing, SEN, IT, Residential Care and Higher Education, then we would be very pleased to hear from you!

If you are able to help, and have the time and enthusiasm to commit please contact our Clerk to Trustees, Tracy Smith on 01925 224899 or email tracysmith@wargravehouse.com.
