17 Dec Sign of the week – Happy Christmas

Here at Wargrave House we recently added Makaton to our Total Communication Approach. This is to support our young people’s expressive and receptive communication. With Makaton, signs are used, along with speech, in a spoken word order.

This helps provide extra clues about what someone is saying. Using signs can help people who have no speech or whose speech is unclear, or who have difficulty finding their words.

Each week we will have a sign of the week.
